SELF EVALUATION

The 18th of November, my friend Mandy and I did an oral presentation about nightmares, some meanings, the sleepwalking and the sleeptalking. I had to evaluate myself, but I’m not sure about how I did it. I think that the slides were cool, the information was interesting and the content was OK too. But maybe I was so anxious because I used to do the presentations with the “medium” class last year, in which the people aren’t very good at English, and this year we are all together the higher level with the medium and that’s very weird for me, I don’t like, I feel stupid, so it makes me feel anxious and “hyperactive” I really can’t be still. And finally my pronunciation, I think it's normal.

WHAT'S A SLEEPWALKING?

SLEEPWALKING:

Sleepwalking or somnambulism is a behavior disorder that originates during deep sleep and results in walking or performing other complex behaviors while asleep. The sleepwalking includes not only walking in your sleep, they sit up in bed and look around, leave the house and drive long distances… A common misconception that a sleepwalker should not be awakened, but it can be dangerous not to wake a sleepwalker.
The prevalence of sleepwalking are between 1% and 15%. It’s common in adulthood, but it isn’t associated with any psychological problem. It can be possible with a sleep deprivation, sedative agents, febrile illnesses, certain medications…
Sleepwalkers are more common in children, between three to seven years old. It can be provocated for bedwetting, sleep terrors, sleep apnea…

- SYMPTOMS:
A sleepwalking can have some symptoms like: sleep talking, no memory of the event, difficulty arousing during an episode, inappropriate behavior such as urinating in closets (more common in children), screaming and violence.

THE MEANING OF SOME NIGHTMARES

  1. Natural catastrophes
Maybe you had dreamed about tsunamis, tornados, volcanoes… Natural catastrophes. The scientist relate that with a feeling of anxiety and fear. You are insignificant in front of the enormous powers of nature.

  1. Being trapped
These nightmares are common in people suffering from claustrophobia, because they have an incredible fear of being locked in small places. However, these nightmares can also be experienced by people fearing their inability to break away from current bad situations (like annoying relationship or dead end job).

  1. Teeth dropping
These nightmare aren’t so frequent. Some people describe it as a profoundly anxious.  The person starts feeling their teeth dropping suddenly from their mouth. This nightmare has been linked to profoundly personal worries about other people’s judgments on his physical appearance.

  1. Being Naked
Maybe you dream about being naked. Psychologists argue these dreams are symptoms of an inner fear of what other people might believe or say about us, normally about our physical appearance. It’s more common in kids.

  1. Missing important events
It’s a very common dream about missing important events, as our own wedding. These dreams represent the fears and anxieties that we feel in important events, an expectation on us. We have the fear of missing that, so we dream about it.

  1. Not able to talk or move
When you can’t scream or talk in a dream that means that you are in an impotence and unfair mood. You try and try, but nobody can hear you, that means that you had some communication problems too.
If you dream about not being able to run or your body doesn’t react, that means that you have some self-esteem problems and you are very insecure.

DONALD TRUMP, NEW USA PRESIDENT

Resultado de imagen de donald trump
It's not really news, but we can considerer to be, because it's an important and recent fact. It talks about the new USA president, Dondald Trump. He was competing with Hillary Clinton, and Trump won the elections. As we can see in the map (link down below), there is more red than blue, the red is Trump, so, he wins, and maybe it seems like he wins with a big difference, but if we go down the page news, we can appreciate that the difference is very small.

OPINION:
Well, I dont know much about Hillary Clinton, but I know some things about Trump, and he doesn't seems like a president. He's racist, sexist, homophobic, controlling, a little bit ignorant, and he's a little bit crazy too. I do not agree with his ideas. For example, he says that the global warming is an invention of -Chinese, WTF? When I knew that he think of these things, it made me question who vote for this man. And are maybe people like him. He says lots of things like this, he wants to make a wall on the Mexican border, he wants to avoid inmigrants, really is that the best way? If he wins because other people like him vote for him, that means that in USA there are a lot of people like Donald, and that's not good for anybody. I hope that Trump follows the board of the consultants, because if he doesn't, USA will have some big problems.

HOW TO DO A GOOD PHOTO SESH ABOUT ONESELF

These last 5 months I was working on a project about advertising photography. This project consists in two parts. My favourite part is taking photos of people, but the photos have to symbolise the people, where we did the photos? Why we choose this place? What was the model wearing? Why he/she is wearing this clothes? And what you can see in the photo? Why do you see that? Everything is important when you want to transmit the personality of a specific person. So, how is it done?

1 1- Choose the place. It’s better if the model feels comfortable, if he/she knows the place, if the place is a site where the model goes a lot, and if it’s a place that defines the model.

2- Choose the clothes. It’s important that the model wears his/her common clothes, maybe his/her favourite outfit. The clothes are very important; people wears different clothes because people have different tastes, and with the clothes people can express a little of his/her personality.

3- Choose what you want to see in the photo. Maybe the model has some characteristic that defines him/her. A tattoo for example, is a good way to express something. Piercings, mole, freckles if the model has many…

All you had to do is combinate these points, transmit the personality, and be creative. Good luck!

HUMOR in life

Resultado de imagen de charles chaplinDoes humor play an important role in life? I think humor is very important to survive in this life. Because it's very important to be a happy person, and a good thing to make it, is with humor.

Besides a good joke makes everyone happy, and a good time telling jokes, forgetting worries, it's distressful for everybody. If somebody has a bad day, listening to jokes or whatching some humor programmes makes him/her feel better. I like doing that, when I have got time I do it, because it's the only thing that we can do, if we don't want to be a stressful and worried person.

So, it's humor important in our life? Yes, it is. We need humor to forget about our stupid life.

CAVE ART: ETCHINGS HAILED AS 'IBERIA'S MOST SPECTACULAR'

Hi everybody! Today I found a new about an interessting cave:

This undated handout picture released by Diputacion Foral de Bizkaia on October 13, 2016 shows cave engravings representing horses and goats, in the Armintxe cave in the Basque village of Lekeitio along with an annotated illustrationA new cave art discovered on the Iberian Peninsula, in the Basque town of Lekeitio. It's a 14,500 years old cave art, the most spectacular and impressive ever discovered.
In the drawings we can differentiate horses, bisons, goats and two palaeolithic lions. Some of the depictions are much bigger, for example, there’s a horse 150cm long. Some of the drawings are identical to forms in the French Pyrenees.
"It’s wonder, a treasure of humanity” senior Biscay said. They discovered the cave in May, and since that day they've been investigating.

Fin de la conversación de chat
The cave will not be opened to the public because of the need to preserve the paintings. But they will use technology to give a good view of the paintings as soon as possible.

OPINION:
I don't have an opinion about this new really, it's only a new discovery. I suppose that I like this type of discoveries. It's interessting to know about our ancestors and learn how and where they lived, what they did, what meanings the paintings have... And with the technology we can answer some of these quations. Maybe it's not 100% sure, but, what's 100% sure in this life?

PANGOLINS ARE THE WORLD'S MOST TRAFFICKED MAMMAL

This new explains the situation of these mammals, called Pangolins. They are the world’s most trafficked mammals, because of their meat and for use in traditional Chinese medicine.

A conservationist holds a pangolin pup (Credit: Paul Hilton)The police found 4,000 dead Pangolins, which equivalates to five tonnes. It’s the largest seizure of these animals ever discovered. From these 4,000 Pangolins, were 96 live ones, because of their size. The dead pangolins were incinerated, and the 96 ones were released into the local rainforest.

OPINION:

I think that this story is horrible, I can't belive that this type of people even exist. It's very shocking for me, that some animals are kill because of science, it has to be stopped. We need to find a solution.

MY DREAMS

Resultado de imagen de dreams
Dear and incredible teacher,
My dream as you know, is to become an actress, but I haven’t got any plan to accomplish it. Well, I haven’t got any plan about anything really, but maybe when I finish this shit (batxillerat), I will go to a dramatic school, where I learn something about my dream.
But the most probable is that I go to an interior or graphic DESIGN school, if I can find some school not very expensive, and for the moment, I can’t find any, all of them are private.

So, for the moment my only goal is to end batxillerat and be happy and without worries for some months. But I’m not very sure about my capacities to overcome batxillerat.

Thank you Montse, for reading it. We will see each other soon. ByeBye!

TED Talks Opinion

Resultado de imagen de ted talks lee duckworth

Hi everyone! I'm back.

About the video by TED Talks, I want to say, that it doesn't provide me anything about motivation. She only talks about the motivation that the boys and girls haven't got in the school. About the problems with the grit.
I agree with her, I think that the guys in the school haven’t got any grit to continue, or to study, they haven’t got any motivation, and I think that’s because the most part of teachers are very depressing, or something like that. They don’t provide any motivation towards the kids and teenagers. Maybe it’s normal, but I prefer a teacher who helps you, saying things like: come on! You can do this! But there are only a few who do that…

FINAL REFLECTION

1.  Can you see an improvement on your level of English in the past year/s?  Where, for example?
Yes, obviously I see that I've learnt a lot and now I'm better then the last year, I see my 4 ESO free posts and they were really bad. And I know that my actual posts aren't perfect but almost sure that they are better. I've improved a lot in the writting because of the blog.
2. Which activity best shows your level of English?
I think that with the presentations you can see very well the level of the other people, you can valuate the pronunciation, the text, how they explain the things, etc. It's true that we feel very nervous in the presentations, but we know, and we consider that.
3. Which activities were really USEFUL for you to improve your English? Why?
Without a doubt the best activity is the blog, I've learnt a lot doing the blog, especially vocabulary. Because you are relaxed on your chair at home, and that's better then writting in class.
4. Which activities did you NOT find useful to learn English? Why not?
Maybe the news, I learnt some vocabulary, but a very irrelevant vocabulary, because it's about specific matters.
5. Which activities would like to do again next year to keep on improving your English?
The best activity is the blog, but maybe it will be better if we could do less posts, beacuse 9 posts are too many, and even more the next year in second batxiellarat. I had prefer to do for example, 4 your says and 2 news, or 5 your says and a new.

GLOBAL WARMING PRESENTATION.

And now we will go to comment my english presentation about Global Warming. I think that I do it well. I did some erros, but it's normal. I can see that I was very nervous, and I talked in catalan some times. I think that's correct: the lenguage, the structure, the pronunciation, and the body lenguage (more or less). But the creativity... I did the presentation with another programme, genial.ly, but the result it's the same I think. Well, I try it. And the content, I think that I didn't say many things, but I did it alone, and it's very difficult to me memorize more things. Compare with the other people in the class, I think that my mark is 8.

X-MEN. REVIEW

Hello! Today I will coment the new X-MEN film. I went yesterday to see it, and wow. I never saw any film of X-MEN, but yesterday I went with my boyfriend and I really enjoy the film! The film was: X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, and it's the story about the origin of all the X-men. I didn't know anything about any character, but it didn't matters, was perfect.
The film has action, intrigue, it makes you feel nervous, etc.
It's set in the 80' and how you now, I love the 80', and that's one of the reasons about that I like a lot this film. Another reason is because one of the main characters is an actor that appears in a serie called: American Horror Story (very famous) which I love, and the actor is Evan Peters.

Tonight I will see the other films, beacuse I need learn more about X-MEN.
If you like action, it's a very recomendate film for you.

And that's all! Thanks for read it! Byee!

BIG MOUTH AND UGLY GIRL OPINION

Hi! Today I want talk about the first big english book that I've read, and it's called: Ugly Girl and Big Mouth. It's a book with 273 pages, and it talks about a "love" story, but it has a small part of mistery too, and especially, friendship.
It starts with a boy called Matt Donaghy who does lots of nasty jokes that gets him into a problem, and Usrula Riggs is the girl who takes Matt out of the problem. And they become friends.
I like this story because it's the type of book that makes you feel nervous throughout the story, and if you like loves stories this book is for you.

And, in my case, the book isn't very difficult, I understand the story almost perfectly, but it's true that some words I needed to search in the diccionary. And some chapters are a little bit more difficult, because things happen that you don't expect, and you don't know if you understand the chapter correctly. But in general it's very recommendable.

I let you read the first page of the book here;

"It was an ordinady January afternoon, a Thursday, when they came for Matt Donaghy.
They came for him during the fifth period, which was Matt's study period, in room 220 of Rocky River High School, Westchester Country.
Matt and three friends - Russ, Stacey, Skeet - had formed a circle with their desks at the rear of the room and were conferring, in lowered voices, about Matt's adaptation of a short story by Edgar Allan Poe into a one-act play; after school, in Drama Club, the four of them were scheduled to read William Wilson: A case of Mistaken Identity for the club members and their advisor. Mr Weinberg. It was a coincidence that Mr Weinberg, who taught English and drama at Rocky River High, was in charge of fifth-period study hall, and when a knock came at the door of the room, Mr Weinberg went to open it in his good-natured, sauntering manner."

T-SHIRT DIY

Hii! Today I will show you a video about how you can do a hyppie T-shirt style:
I hope you like it:)

SUCKY HUMANS ARE DRIVING A SHOCKING NUMBER OF PLANTS TO EXTINCTION

This new talks about the importance of the plants for the humans. Thare are 390.000 known plants species, the humans utilize 30.000 of them for food and medicine. And one in five plants are in risk to extinction because the human activities.
Humans need plants for everything. The plants regulate a lot the climate, without plants we woludn't be here. If humanity continue like now, we will have to pay the consequences.

OPINION.
I choose this new because it talks about one of the global issues, the lesson that we are doing in class, and I thinked that maybe it's interessant. So, I really think that the humans are very stupid, the people know that the plants are important, but, it doesn't matter for them, they only think about the money, and this are the consequences. I don't like talk about this type of things, but it's necessary to do it, because the people don't do anything to stop it, well, yes, maybe a 25-30% of the population of the Earth, but, and the other 70-75%? We need everybody doing something to help the plants, and that's difficult.

EUROVISION

Hello guys! Today I'm going to talk about Euriovision, the famous programme of Europe! It consists in a singer, or maybe a band, that represents the country of they comes, they sing in the programme, and the best  song wins. Easy.
So, this year the winner was Ukraine, with 534 points. Followed by Australia with 511, and in the 3rd place Russia with 491 points.
I'm agree with the winner, the song of Ukraine have very strength. But my favorite is Russia, because they used special effects that was really incredibles. So, I'm very disagree with the pontuation of Australia, because they aren't an Europe country, but, well, it doesn't matters, if they want I let them participate in the competition, but, his song is very normal!
And, another thing that I don't liked is that, the countries don't select the typical person of they conutry, I mean, for example, the typical australian is with blue eyes, very blond hair, and a pale skin in winter, or the other type, the aborigine, with dark skin, dark colour hair... But no, the singer is a chinese girl.
Well, the things change. Congratulations for Ukraine!

THIS IS THE REASON YOUR JEAN POCKETS HAVE TINY BUTTONS ON THEM

Jean pockets
Hello! I found this article and I think that's interesting. So, you know what do this buttons?
It buttons are called rivets and his work is prevent jeans wearing out and ripping at the seam.
Levi Strauss who's who invent this in 1829 for the miners.

OPINION:
Well, when I read the title I thinked that's his work was something more interesting, it's bastant logical and before to read it I think that his work was keep the seams united, and of course, this is the work that it does!

TURISM IN BURGOS AND LEÓN

Hey, what's app everybody! Today I will show you my trip to Burgos and León which I do with my classmates.
So, in Burgos we visited:

- The Cathedral: It's an enormous cathedral, with gothic style and beautiful crystals in the windows.

- The Human Evolution Museum: An amazing museum with amazing things like a whole skull which have more than 300.000 years, called Miguelon.

- The Archeological Sites of Atapuerca: One of the most important site of the world, here was where they found Miguelon and others.

Between BURGOS and LEÓN we find the "Médulas":

- The "Médulas": It's an old gold mine opencast, the biggest in the Roman Empire. The Romans collected the gold with this method: they did canals in which the water enters, and this stays here for days and finally the mountain falls and this was the result:

In León we visited:

- The Valporquero's Cave: An enormous and amazing cave maked for the water and with incredibles stalactites and stalagmites.

And, finally, we visited
- The Cathedral of Leon: It isn't big like the Burgos Cathedal but it have very beautiful crystals too.

So, that's all I hope you like it, and maybe now you want to visit one of these places.

FLOWERS TIME

Hello! Today I will explain you what's the time of flowers "Temps de Flors".

Time of flowers is a festival celebrated in Girona, Catalonia, it's lasts ten days more or less in the month of may, and it's a very important festival recognized around the world. Is the most important festival in Girona and with reason.
Time of flowers began in 1954 when a little group of people decided to do a competition about the exposition of flowers. It started to become a big competition and finally in 1979 it was a big exposition, and in 1992 it became a typical festival of Girona.
And, why am I talking about it? Well, yesterday I went to see it with my boyfriend and woow, it's really fantastic. The people that do it are very creative and have a lot of imagination. This has been the first year that I have been and will not be the last.
This year the festival is from the 7th of May to the 15th of May. I recomend you that if you have time and it's possible, you go, because it's worth it. The problem is that there are a lot of people that know about it, and they go, and it's a little bit stressful because of all the people that there is, but really it's very beutiful.

I leave you with some photos  that I have done this year 2016:
